Vetro Gel: Is It the Best Japanese Gel Nail Brand for You?

Updated: Nov 29, 2023

If you are like me, you have a deep appreciation for Japanese nail art and a desire to explore the world of Japanese gel nail products. Let me introduce you to some of the Japanese gel nail brands you can get your hands on.

This is a series that I started on my Youtube channel, so if you haven't had a chance - make sure you head on over there where I share my experience with each Japanese gel brand.

Now that you're on your journey to finding a Japanese gel brand - but just can't decide which one, I'm here to break it down to you.

Vetro holds the distinction of being the first Japanese gel brand to establish a presence in the United States. When Japanese gels were still relatively unknown, Vetro made it's way to the US and strides by offering certification courses and product knowledge training, making them a pivotal player in the industry.

During my early encounters with Vetro, I faced a frustrating challenge – I could never seem to get my hands on their potted base or top gel. These hot items were consistently out of stock, and each time I checked their website, I was met with disappointment. However, as time passed, Vetro introduced their Black Line in bottle form, providing a great alternative for those who didn't want to commit to their potted line. Additionally, they launched their Gold Line, which featured gel and regular polish sets, catering to nail technicians who still offered traditional polish services.

I approach each Japanese gel brand by considering three essential aspects: the base, top, and color options they offer. Additionally, it's worth noting that many Japanese gel brands also provide structural gels. Therefore, when making your choice, be sure to explore the specific array of structural gels each brand offers.

While I cannot provide in-depth insights into their potted base and top gels, I can recommend their Black Line. Vetro's Black Line Base Gel is one of my go-to choices for creating gel manicures. It offers a thin consistency that works exceptionally well for me, with no issues of lifting or peeling. Vetro also offers their Black Line Top Gel, which serves as a reliable everyday topcoat.

While Vetro excels in the realm of nail art, it's not my go-to brand for everyday wear due to their star system. That's not to say that this brand isn't fantastic – it's an excellent choice for nail artists seeking a range of gels to suit various artistic applications. Vetro's gels do not require constant stirring, making them an excellent choice for managing time, which is crucial in nail art, where intricate designs can be time-consuming. Vetro has a unique star system to classify their gel colors, signifying their texture and consistency. This system includes:

⭐One star for soft gels

⭐⭐Two stars for medium-consistency gels

⭐⭐⭐Three stars for hard-consistency gels

⭐⭐⭐⭐Some four-star gels offer 3D like effects

With that being said these are my thoughts on the Japanese gel brand Vetro. Vetro Gel is an excellent choice for nail artists and technicians who specialize in everyday nail art and require a diverse range of gel options to cater to their artistic endeavors. The time-saving feature of not needing constant stirring is a significant advantage in the realm of nail art, where efficiency is crucial.

I hope this post has provided you with valuable insights into the world of Vetro, helping you determine whether it's the right Japanese gel brand for you. I'll see you in the next post.
